Clinical Pilates postnatal recovery is a physiotherapist-guided exercise program that rebuilds core stability, pelvic floor strength, and posture after childbirth. It uses targeted movement, breathing mechanics, and low-load progressions to reconnect the abdominals, glutes, and pelvic floor. New mothers use it to manage diastasis recti, back pain, pelvic pain, and urinary incontinence, and to rebuild strength and confidence in the months after birth. The program has 3 main components: a movement screening with a physiotherapist, individualised exercises for the deep core and pelvic floor, and a progression plan that adapts as the body heals. Pregnancy exercise sets the stage for this recovery, so the guidelines below cover both stages of the journey.
