Just like any other electronic device, the HP Officejet 4500's will
stop functioning if there will be any problem with its hardware or
software. Before troubleshooting or trying to resolve the issue,
you should first figure out where the problem lies.
The printer’s functioning can be affected by various reasons, like
the problem with the printer software on the computer, or maybe
the computer itself or even because of the USB cable which
connects the printer to the computer.
HP OfficeJet Not Printing(Fixed)
Starting from the very basic step, first of all, check both the ends of the
power cord and the printer's USB cable and make sure that they are plugged
in securely. Directly plug the power cord into a power outlet instead of a
backup battery or surge protector. Also, plug the USB cable into the
computer, not on some other device or USB hub.
Now, check the printer’s power light, if it is illuminated solidly or is blinking.
In case, you have installed a new print cartridge around 10-12 minutes
before, wait for the light to stop blinking as the printer might be taking time
to initialize the new cartridge.
Another thing which you try out to deal with HP Officejet 4500 not printing
issues is to unplug the power cord, open the printer's covers and then
remove the paper from the input and output trays if the power light keeps on
blinking.
Just to make sure that the Officejet 4500 is set as a default printer, use the
software application you used to make the print request. Now, click the "File"
menu, then click "Print" and check whether the Officejet 4500 is selected in
the pull-down menu at the top of the print window.
Now, right-click the printer icon on the right side of the taskbar, see if a check
mark appears next to "Pause Printing. If the check mark appears, click "Pause
Printing" resuming the pending print work. Also, make sure that you close any
other application open on the printer to get rid of potential conflicts.
