For those like me who have fallen in love with this region, staying in one of the five-star resorts in North Goa is a siren call that beckons and never fades. Among my favorites tucked away in the peaceful village of Saligao is The Postcard Saligao—a place that embodies everything that I cherish about North Goa.

History culture and beach find all in the five-star resorts in North Goa

History, culture, and beach find all in the five-star resorts in North Goa. For years, I would take trips to Goa from Mumbai and then, every time, without an exception, would surely test out the peaceful beaches and the laidback, Goa-only vibe. Over the years, however, I found myself settling more and more on North Goa, where history blends with nature and a dash of modern luxury blends seamlessly. First Impressions of The Postcard Saligao The charm of The Postcard Saligao is that it's not one of those usual five-star resorts that the North Goan landscape is dotted with. There's no great entrance or a three- story façade either. But you enter a quaint Goan house, just the right reflection of the 16th-century heritage of Saligao village. It's the kind of place where rich history meets sensuous luxury with effortless ease. The moment you step in, you are enveloped in a calmness that is hard to find even in the most high-end resorts. Experiences in Saligao Village Unlike some of the huge five-star resorts in North Goa, which keep you confined within their gates, The Postcard Saligao is quite eager for you to step out and discover. The village of Saligao is a hidden gem in North Goa. Colorful Indo-Portuguese houses punctuate narrow lanes that are perfect for long, leisurely walks. Among my favorite things to do here are just walk through the village, looking at the bright pastel facades of old homes and the timelessness with which this area is full of charm. To experience it even more, I highly recommend afternoon tea hosted by a local family. Indeed, the paasai, the traditional Goan tea ritual, was something that I deservedly witnessed during my last visit, which took place in one of the local homes.
