The Taj Mahal is a monument that is a timeless piece to the testimony of true love. It is celebrated world-over as having stood in resolute glory transcending time, showcasing a long-lasting love, which is still enduring, eternal and has an indelible aura about it. The unconditionally pure and truthfully raw love story of King Shah Jahan and his consort Mumtaz Mahal found a place in the verses of Rudyard Kipling, poet Rabindranath Tagore and a historic acceptance in the monument of Taj Mahal.

The Taj Mahal is a monument that is a timeless piece to the testimony of true love. It is celebrated world-over as having
stood in resolute glory transcending time, showcasing a long-lasting love, which is still enduring, eternal and has an
indelible aura about it. The unconditionally pure and truthfully raw love story of King Shah Jahan and his consort Mumtaz
Mahal found a place in the verses of Rudyard Kipling, poet Rabindranath Tagore and a historic acceptance in the
monument of Taj Mahal. This magnificent monument has a unique blend of Indo-Islamic style of architecture and
is intricately carved on ivory white marble. It was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his beloved
wife Mumtaz Mahal. The vaulted dome-shaped tomb is a prominent feature of the building and is decorated in lotus
design. This is relatively distinct from other Mughal structures. They have been constructed with red sandstone whereas
the Taj was made entirely of white ivory marble. It is surrounded by a garden with a path on either side providing a hassle-
free environment for awe-struck visitors. Adding to its immortal allure is the location, set against the River
Yamuna providing a perfect backdrop of the ethereal quality of true love. It is one of the 7 wonders of the world and has a
prominent place in UNESCO's world heritage list. It is also embellished with precious and semi-precious stones and
engraved with plant motifs and calligraphy of Persian poems.
