Osteogenesis Imperfecta is a bone disease, and It is a rare disease in which baby bones get broken easily. And its also known as a brittle bone disease. • It’s a genetic bone disease • It has been present since birth. https://www.trishlaortho.co Causes of Osteogenesis m/ Imperfecta : This is a Genetic disease. In which one of the genes have the problem of Type 1 Collagen, and It is mostly found in teeth, ligaments, and bones where the children will not have sufficient good quality collagen, which will lead to fragile bones that break very easily. https://www.trishlaortho.co Symptoms of Osteogenesis m/ Imperfecta in children? Each child has different types of symptoms in their body. • Curved spine. • Hearing loss • Soft & Discoloration of teeth • Muscle weakness • Deformity of bone, especially in the leg and arm https://www.trishlaortho.co Types of Osteogenesis m/ Imperfecta (OI) – Type 1: This is the most common form of OI & mildest one. In this variety, bones get fractured easily and get muscles weak. Type 2: In this variety, babies have very little chance of survival and die at a young age.
