The Government of India has launched the 'PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana' (PM Solar Home: Free Electricity Scheme) to promote solar energy within the country and reduce electricity bills. Under this scheme, the government provides a subsidy for the installation of Rooftop Solar Panel Systems on residential rooftops. Its primary objective is to provide up to 300 units of free electricity to households every month and to promote clean energy.
