across the globe, with the purpose of attaining
relaxation.
Step 1: Wear Loose and
Comfortable Clothes
First of all, prepare yourself to
practice meditation, and wear loose
and comfortable clothes that allow
for ease of movement and prevent
restrictions on the body. It also
promotes blood circulation which
reduces the chance of overheating.
Step 2: Find a quiet and
comfortable space
Find a quiet space where you can
comfortably practice meditation. There
should be no distractions that make it
easy for you to go into a deep relaxation
state. A quiet space allows you to create
a peaceful environment that is imperative
to practice deep meditation, as it helps
with relaxation and concentration.
Step 3: Choose a Focus
After being comfortable with the surroundings
it’s time to choose a focus for your meditation.
This focus could be your breath, a word or
phrase like Mantra, an image in your mind, or
other physical sensations your body can feel.
Do not let your mind wander away, find a way
to keep it focused to experience the real depth
of meditation.
Step 4: Start Practicing
with a Few Deep Breaths
At the beginning, take a few deep
breaths by inhaling air through your
nose, and exhaling through your
mouth. . It makes it easier to reap
the benefits of meditation practice
by allowing you to enter a
meditative state for prolonged
periods.
Step 5: Focus on Your
Chosen Object
After taking a few deep breaths,
start to focus on your chosen
object. This could be a phrase or
word you can repeat silently to
yourself or the sensation of your
breath as it moves in and out of
your body.
Step 6: Notice Your
Thoughts
While meditating, you will likely notice
thoughts and feelings arising in your
mind and your instinct might trying to
suppress them. Through Practising with
discipline, you will be able to control
your thoughts, emotions, and
sensations that distract you from being
concentrated.
Step 7: Practise Regularly
In order to see the benefits of meditation,
it’s important to practice it on a regular
basis. You can start practicing with just a
few minutes a day and gradually increase
your practice over time. One more thing,
when you are ready to end your
meditation practice, take a few deep
breaths and then slowly open your eyes.
