A variety of white rice is basmati. It has a nuttier flavor and is more fragrant than 
conventional white rice. In addition, the grains are longer than typical white rice. 
Native to the Indian subcontinent, basmati rice is also popular in the Middle East. 
Traditionally used with Indian food and excellent for spreading over hearty curries 
flavored with spices! The well-known rice dish of the Indian subcontinent, biryani, 
is prepared with basmati rice as well.
