Samuel Fleming 
House
Built-in 1756, the Samuel Fleming 
House, also known as Flemington 
Castle, is a historic home in Flemington, 
New Jersey. The structure is now used 
as a museum and is open to the public. 
The house is the borough's oldest 
surviving structure. The Flemington 
Historic District encompasses this 
structure. Samuel Fleming, born in 
Ireland in 1707, immigrated to the 
United States and worked as a tavern 
master in the area. In 1741, he 
purchased 210 acres (0.85 km2) in 
present-day Flemington from Thomas 
Penn, the son of William Penn, the 
founder of the Province of Pennsylvania.
