This often-overlooked cash-only gem has a few picnic tables outside and only a few retro renditions
inside to  attract  none other  than Anthony Bourdain,  as  evidenced by his  2012 visit.  The menu is
straightforward, the fries are delicious, and the atmosphere is alluring. 
Chicago’s Dog House 
Hot Doug's spiritual successor is a regular on the summer festival circuit. Visit Chicago's Dog House's
Lincoln Park location for the full menu of sausages named after local celebrities, such as the Chance
the Snapper Dog, which features smoked alligator sausage, caramelized onions, and sweet chili sauce.
Redhot Ranch 
Red Hot Ranch's all-natural sausages with just the right amount of bite are no longer a secret. The
double dog is the way to go since the sausages are thinner than in most places. This small chain's
Armitage Avenue location (restaurant siblings with Wiener's Circle and 35th Street Red Hots) sells
minimalist hot dogs (mustard, relish, onion, and sport peppers), fresh-cut fries, and fried shrimp. 
Duck Inn 
The signature Duck Inn Dog at this neighborhood hangout has received numerous accolades, and
rightly so. This luscious delight is made with all-natural beef and obsequious duck fat in hog casing and
grilled to a fine snap. 
Flub A Dub Chub’s 
It's the rare place that makes Lakeview feel like an actual neighborhood, tucked away in a basement
along Broadway and run by a sweet older couple. Choose the extra-thick dog — called the Chubby,
indeed. 
Wrigleyville Dogs
Wrigleyville dogs is another absolute go-to place if you're craving a distinctive and luscious meal. It's a
family-run business known for serving the best hot dogs topped with savory and exotic sausages,
retaining old-school vibes in every manner so patrons may enjoy meals with a nostalgic twist. Their
distinctive  style  is  meticulously  constructed to  provide  the  ultimate dessert  experience,  with  varied
delectable tastes and an unmistakable fluffy texture. Visit Wrigleyville dogs to explore their broad taste
selection, which includes delicious chocolate treats.    
Jimmy’s Red Hot 
Jimmy's is  a  purist's  hot  dog stand,  like  Gene & Jude's,  serving  tasty  Vienna Beef  hot  dogs and
Polishes on steamed buns with a lavishing pile of greasy, hand-cut fries. This location is open late,
which is the best time to observe suspicious parking lot behavior. Jimmy's is, and hopefully will always
be a genuine Chicago experience. 
Wolfy’s 
Wolfy's  deserves  a  place  on  the  dais  in  the  pantheon  of  Chicago  hot  dog  stands.  The  room  is
immaculate, and the staff is friendly. Expect perfectly scorched hot dogs, Italian beef, cheesesteaks,
gyros, chicken nuggets, salads, and milkshakes, under a great '60s-era sign. Wolfy's hot dog, one of
the best in town, will make even the most gloomy hot dog fan smile.
Portillo’s  
There's no denying that this hyper-efficient neighborhood chain serves an amazing wiener. Portillo's,
locations in River North,  the South Loop, and Avondale, pays homage to the Midwest with classic
Chicago-style hot dogs, chili-cheese dogs, and char-grilled Maxwell Street Polish sausage.
