• Depending on the severity and pattern of depressive
episodes over time, health-care providers may offer
psychological treatments such as behavioural
activation, cognitive behavioural therapy and
interpersonal psychotherapy, and/or antidepressant

inhibitors (SSRIs) and tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs).
