ideal manners and behavior expected of internet users.
Netiquette is a set of professionally and socially accepted rules
to be practiced when using any online medium.

language, tone of voice and facial expressions that add to the
communication between sender and recipient. Written
communication is devoid of this luxury, often making the

With the increased use of Internet and email in this digital age,
online etiquette known as netiquette, is very important to your
success not only in college but in your career and throughout
your life. You always want to come across as professional and
mature when communicating online.

Email is in itself a representative act responsible for reflecting

Not only is it important to listen for information being exchanged
between yourself and a client or colleague, but it is also
important to listen for voice inflection or hesitations. Being able
to listen and identify these clues is key in developing a clearer

It is a language that can be perceived as confrontational in

conversations and meetings. This ensures better use of time and
