Female pattern hair loss is a common condition where hair loss tends to result more in thinning and rarely total hair loss. Genetic predisposition, aging and level of hormones (precisely androgens, the male sex hormones) are the prime factors associated with female hair loss. Imbalances in androgen levels cause menopause, under which many women find that their hair becomes thinner while facial hair becomes coarser. However, family history is also considered to be one of the reasons for female hair loss.
