Or else, they consider their tour of this zone incomplete. In fact, there are 
certain villages and towns where tourists go specifically to buy the items 
made by artisans. The logical conclusion then is that these craftspeople 
ensure that the concerned zone is economically benefited by the inflow of 
tourists.
 
 It has been seen in the last few years that there has been a decline in job 
opportunities in the avenue of conventional manufacturing. Aspirants are 
thus seeking alternatives where their abilities can be put to best use. In this 
context, artisanal work is one of the most striking options available for 
people possessing the required skills. And there is an increase in the number 
of people undertaking any of these crafts as their professional activity.
 This can be seen as an elaboration on the previous point. When more and more 
aspirants begin to work in the sector of artisanal work, it’s obvious that it 
becomes a major force in the economy. That is exactly what’s going on.
 
 There is now a substantial increase in consumers preferring to buy sustainable 
products; this has led to a high demand for artworks made by artisans. These 
skilled people make items that fully adhere to environmental norms.
 
 This is a point worthy of special mention. Many artisanal professionals have 
now integrated digital technologies into their work. As a result, they are in a 
position to reach wider audiences; this will eventually pave the way for more 
people buying these products. Over time, this aspect will boost the economy.
 
 It is projected that there will be a phenomenal surge in artisanal jobs by 2030. 
There is going to be no dearth of opportunities for people having related 
abilities. This will invariably augment the economic value addition pertaining 
to artisanal work.
 Artisanal work contributes to the economy even in other ways. Most of the 
people who visit a town/village renowned for artisanal craft do not quickly 
return after buying. They will visit places like hotels and other shops, too. 
Hence, there is also a proportionate rise in broader employment and self-
employment opportunities in the zone.
 On the whole, the sector of artisanal work has been displaying impressive 
development. Yet, there are still some zones where these craftspeople do not 
have access to facilities like credit and transport connectivity. These artisans 
are unable to expand their reach. The government needs to initiate steps to 
resolve the issues of artisanal communities in these zones.
