Seceon was a sponsor and speaker at the The Channel
Company’s CRN XChange Security 2023, event in Dallas,
Texas. There were over 135 MSP and MSSP attendees
that are driving over $780 million in revenue.
We hosted two boardroom sessions where a small number of
service providers provided insights into their business and
their challenges and their vision going forward to provide
advanced security services. In the room from Seceon were:
Chandra S. Pandey, CEO and Founder, Tom Ertel, SVP of
Technical Sales, and Strategic Accounts, George Fisher, Vice
President of Channel Sales, they kept the talk interactive, and
nobody experienced death by PowerPoint.
One of the key things we heard in the boardroom and at
the booth was the simple fact that the perception of
running a detection and response service with a SIEM is a
big challenge. This negative perception centers on people
(eyes on glass), cost (feeds and data retention), and
expertise. After a discussion or a demo, with Seceon, the
service providers we spoke to said something like: “Seceon
might be my answer to these challenges; with it’s real-
time detection and automated response, we can control
our customer experience and achieve higher margins with
Seceon better than running a big stack or outsourcing to an
MDR”.
We hear this on the phone and in Zoom meetings all the
time; hearing it in person always adds a spring to our
step.
This event features a small hall of solution providers at
simple tables, and the “booth hours” at this event were
limited to two evenings. Tom,
George and Chandra all report great conversations, some
quick demos, and in the end we booked over two dozen
follow-up meetings.
We also gave away a Meta Quest 2 — Advanced All-In-
One Virtual Reality Headset to one of the attendees
that stopped by our booth. The lucky recipient was
Raymon Ribble of Spher, Inc. We were extremely
satisfied with the service providers we met and the
quality of the speakers in the keynotes and mainstage
sessions.
