How to increase your Batting speed?
How to increase your
Batting speed?
1. The Barrel Turn
The first important thing in Baseball Batting is the barrel Turn,
wherein you need to get forward, then turn backward and around into
the baseball. The barrel rises with the coming pace behind the
increasing bat speed. This practice of barrel turn helps to get the barrel
to move fast, not your body, as it does not need to go fast. Once the
player does start tipping the bat, it allows him to use the momentum
that works for him and does not require much forearm strength. Speed
can benefit a player without requiring more power and effort.
2. Prioritize the Back leg and then the hands
Keeping the hands at the shoulder through the swing gives you more
control of the bat. It is correctly said that when the object is far from
the player's body, it instantly gets heavier and more challenging to
handle. It is essential, at that time, to keep the hands at the shoulder
and tilt the shoulders to the baseball. The action can make your
position powerful & secure. Post the ball hits, the hands can resume
toward the pitcher.
3. Hand Placement
When hitters push their hands away from their back shoulder, they can
later move the hands forward, as with this, the bat will not get behind
the baseball as quickly, creating fewer mistakes. The upper body can
sway quickly through the lower body, and pushing the hands forward
can achieve the perfect position with enough energy flow. With this
energy flow, the hands and bat should ideally not come forward first.
4. Weight Shift
In the weight shift, the player must center the weight over the back leg
as he strides and falls forward; ideally, he must lean about 2-4 inches
back with his shoulders compared to his hips, which can create real
momentum.
5. Stretch and Fire
With stretch and fire, the player must concentrate on the upper body
staying back as the lower body goes. The upper and lower body
equilibrium must be maintained here. With a barrel turn, this effect is
easier to produce. This action enables the barrel to get behind the ball
early and stay on a path that unfailingly lines up square contact. Also, it
allows the player to adjust to offspeed pitches as this action to the
opposite field is specially raised by leaving the hands back.
6. Pull the Elbow Back
The player's elbow must draw back towards the dugout behind for the
proper load. This is a rotational load around the back leg, pulling the
elbow back as the back knee goes forward, letting the player be at the
edge. It is so essential to have a proper Bat Speed for professionals.
The above guidelines can be of great help.
