NGO or NonGovernmental Organisations are
nonprofit organisations that are aimed towards
creating a better world for all humans with no
distinction made between caste, creed, religion,
gender or societal status.
There are many NGOs all around the world with
each of them providing different kinds of benefits to
the society.

1. Give Directly
The organisation is fundamentally based around the
concept of “A radical new way to give: directly”. Never
before has an NGO been established to divert funds
directly into individuals and family’s hands, cutting out
the middle man and all the expenses with it as they go..
The concept behind Give Directly is beautifully simple:
1) Donate through their webpage 2) Give Directly
locates poor households in Kenya and Uganda 3) The
NGO transfers your donation to the recipient
electronically via their phone
2. Wikimedia Foundation
It is “dedicated to encouraging the growth,
development and distribution of free, multilingual
content, andproviding the full content of these wiki
based projects to the public free of charge. The
Wikimedia Foundation operates some of the largest
collaboratively edited reference projects in the world,
including Wikipedia, a to topten internet property.”
Wikimedia ranked 1st in the 2012 list.
3. Wild4Life
It was Established to serve people in remote, rural
communities who have limited or no access to health
service providers. The NGO has developed a
fantastically innovative service delivery model that
maximises the environment they operate in to reach
more people than would be otherwise possible.
4. Danish Refugee Council
It was made in 1956 they have aided over one
million people in their history and their goal is
that “no displaced person must be without help
when it comes to finding protection and durable
solutions.
5. Partners In Health
They have a two part goal with the first being
“to bring the benefits of modern medical science to
those most in need of them and [secondly,] to
serve as an antidote to despair.”
6. Médecins Sans Frontières
Médecins Sans Frontières, the founders of the
“without boarders” movement work, as “an
international, independent, medical humanitarian
organization that delivers emergency aid to people
affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural
disasters and exclusion from healthcare.
7 Cure Violence
New to the list this year, this Chicago-
based organization formerly known as
CeaseFire, “are advocates fighting to stop
the spread of violence” through
communities. Cure Violence actively
seeks to “diffuse potentially explosive
situations” to show “community members
how to resolve conflicts peacefully.”
