4 Important Tips for Deep-Cycle Battery Maintenance
4 Important Tips for Deep-Cycle Battery
Maintenance

Overview
Deep cycle batteries are actually lead-acid batteries and the most commonly
used batteries. Its required daily water discharged to keep proper working.
How Battery works?
● This battery has a fluid name
electrolyte; it's a mix of water and
sulfuric acid.
● When the battery charges it heats
up the electrolyte and water
evaporates this process is called
electrolysis.
● In this process water breaks in
hydrogen and oxygen gases.
Do not add sulfuric acid:
● Do not add additional sulfuric
acid it affects performance.
● Just add only water as per its
requirement.
● If the electrolyte levels are low,
just fill it with water that makes
it long-lasting and safe for use.
Adding water Regular
● Adding water at a particular
time makes it working smooth.
● In Gassing, process battery
loses its water so that's the
reason add water.
● In the case of sealed batteries,
most of the gasses remix into
the electrolyte.
Do not used Tap Water
● Tap water contains excess
impurities that affect the battery
performance.
● Only Distilled water is using while
refill the deep cycle batteries make
its life-span longer.
Do not add chemicals:
● Adding additional Chemicals or electrolyte makes its life short and
also harms the battery.
Other Common Mistakes:
● overwatering: extra water makes electrolytes very thin, which lose
battery performance.
● Under-watering: while gassing water always evaporated, so make
sure to add water as per need.
● overcharging: do not overcharge that affects makes the battery
weaker.
● undercharge: less charge battery, turn off any time while working.
