error. The config.msi is a temporary repository to store data that 
is needed to roll back an installation if it fails. The data of this 
folder is deleted after the installation of the application is done 
correctly. The content of that file should be deleted because it 
creates problems with Quickbooks ability that may raise the 
possibility of site repair.

Quickbooks as directly from the installation CD drive and the

second option so choose that option and install Quickbooks 
from a Cd drive.
Solution 2:- Run Quickbooks Install 
diagnostic tool-
1- Firstly, download Quickbooks Install 
diagnostic tool from the website Intuit and then 
save the downloaded file on your system.
2- Now, close all the running programs and run 
the QBinstall tool. The installation process takes 
at least 20 minutes. 
3- Finally, restart your system and ensure that 
the components are properly updated.
Solution 3:- Locate the config.msi file:-
1- Firstly, right-click on the start menu and choose to explore option then double-click on 
C drive, this will display all the hidden files and folders.
2- To view all the hidden files and folders click on the tools option and then choose folder 
then look for the view tab and click on the hidden files and folders option. Once done then 
click on apply and ok button. Now you have to check the protected operating file system.
3- Now, you have to choose a view option and deselect the hidden protected operating 
system-based file. Now, again you have to choose the apply option and then click on the 
“ok” option.
4- Now, do right-click on the “config.msi” file then rename the file. It will hide and protect 
your operating system files including all necessary hidden files & folders.
