Loft  tanks are meant for indoor use and are normally available in  
White (transparent) & Black. They are used for emergency water storage on the 
 loft of kitchen or bedroom. Loft tanks are available in 150 lts, 225 lts, 270 lts, 
400  lts, 500 lts and 1000 lts. It's also available in two layer – Black outside & 
white  inside for specific outdoor usages in all the standard sizes.

HOW TO SELECT 
AGOOD WATER STORAGE TANK
Be alert before you buy a water tank & follow the steps 
below
Look inside the tank & ensure its interior does not have pungent smell. Its interior  
should looks smooth and clean. If the tank is made using, “FDA” approved – Virgin  
“FOOD GRADE” Polyethylene it would invariably look smooth and be odorless too.  
Check & ensure that it has adequate wall thickness & weight to withstand the  
water load.
Ensure that brand name is embossed on the tank, just a screen printi ng alone  
using paint is not enough, as the paint would not stay on plastic for longer period.
Tanks made as per ISI specifications are costly - If one decides to go for an ISI 
tank
– Ensure that Manufacturer's Test Certificate is also issued along with its invoice 
–  giving full details of manufacturer, their CML Number (BIS – Bureau of Indian  
Standard's license number), Brand Name, Batch Number of the product etc as  
specified by BIS.
Insist for a experienced / skilled plumber to install the tank – Ensure that the  
entire bott om of the tank is supported & no stone or any hard or sharp objects  
are there underneath the tank, also follow the “Installation Instructions” strictly.
It is not necessary that one should buy only ISI tanks for a good quality tank, Good  
brands who want to sustain long in the market & who embosses their brand Everyone should ensure that the drinking water is healthy and pure. So choose only 
names  on the tank are confident that their tanks are of high quality & would not good  quality water tanks made of “FDA approved Virgin “FOOD GRADE” Polyethylene – 
fail in its  normal course of usage. For safe  use in direct contact with foodstuffs, pharmaceuticals & drinking water. 
Beware of the low  quality water tanks, as it can create severe health problems if not 
made of FDA approved  Virgin “FOOD GRADE” Polyethylene.
