The Indian Battery Recycling market is anticipated to grow at a CAGR 9.1% during the forecast period. A lead-acid battery is increasingly used in railways, transportation, automobiles and many other sectors and is further rising with solar and wind schemes launched by the government. More than 50% of global lead demand is met by secondary lead production. In a developing country include India leads are imported from other countries such as the US, Korea and Australia. Only a fraction of batteries are collected for recycling while proper regulation exists for used battery collection. Retailers collect the batteries by consumer authorized smelters and get the spent batteries through open auction by Metal and Scrap Trading Corporation (MSTC).
