Billy Jensen has a master’s degree 
from the University of Kansas and 
began his writing career as a side 
project and creative outlet during his 
time running the family painting 
business. He began his own zine, The 
Fight Card. His efforts were noticed 
by the Village Voice, and he was 
offered a single story in the first issue 
of their Long Island edition. From 
there, Billy continued writing and 
launched a career that would lead to 
national acclaim.

Darkness with Me: How One True 
Crime Writer Started Solving Murders, 
a New York Times bestseller. Mr. 
Jensen has contributed his crime 
features to Los Angeles Magazine, 
Boston Magazine, Rolling Stone, and 
other publications. Warner Bros. chose 
him as senior producer and 
investigator for the network’s show, 
Crime Watch Daily. Mr. Jensen has 
contributed to solving both murder and 
missing persons cases. 
Television Producer & Host
Billy Jensen is an author, podcast 
host, and television producer/host. He 
is known for his investigative crime 
writing and for his contributions to 
solving prominent missing persons 
and murder cases. He authored the 
New York Times bestseller, Chase 
Darkness with Me: How One True 
Crime Writer Started Solving Murders. 
His stories have been featured in 
Rolling Stone, Miami New Times, and 
Boston Magazine. He was a crime 
stringer for the New York Times.

Billy Jensen is an investigative 
reporter who served as executive 
producer and co-host for 
Unraveled, a multi-part series on 
Discovery+. Additionally, he 
collaborates on The First Degree 
podcast with Jac Vanek and Alexis 
Linkletter. Mr. Jensen has a talent 
and passion for collaborating with 
others, and when his dear friend, 
Michelle McNamara, passed away 
suddenly, he helped complete her 
book, I’ll be Gone in the Dark.
