Children learn abilities that will last a lifetime when they practice empathy through guided activities. They learn how to read facial expressions, know when their friends are depressed, and offer consolation without being asked.Would you rather have a child that can properly recite the alphabet but hits other kids when they are mad? Or someone who is still learning letters but instinctively supports a friend who is crying? Both talents are important, but emotional growth is generally ignored.
