implant abutment is attached to the implant body with a screw that extends 
through the gums into the mouth to support the artificial tooth.
What are the types of dental implants?
The three most common types of dental implants are:

• Zygomatic
Endosteal Implants
This implant requires a sound and healthy jawbone to insert the post, which 
is shaped like screws. Artificial teeth are fitted on these screws. However, 
the implanted posts take time to heal, and only after which can the tooth be 
fixed over it.
Subperiosteal Implants
It is an alternative to the previous method. The difference is that the post 
rest on the top of the bone and under the gum instead of fixing it on the 
jawbone. A metal frame is kept under the gum with a pole attached to it. 
After the gum around the frame heals, the teeth are secured to the poles.
