INTRODUCTION
❖ In business, handling products in different units of measure is very important 
and it's very essential to sell and buy products in different quantities that are 
convenient for consumers.
❖  Units of measures are an indication c  i ting the unit used to handle a particular 
product. 
❖ Thus the concept- Unit of measure arises from purchasing a product either in 
bulk or in fewer quantities.
❖ One can easily configure the unit of measure in Odoo for a particular product.
❖ First of all, go to the Sales module and enable the option unit of measure under 
configuration settings and save. Sales - Configuration - Settings - Unit of measure
❖ After enabling Unit of measure to go to configuration - Under the configuration, 
you can see two menus: Unit of Measure Categories and Unit of Measure.
❖ UoM Category refers under which category units are coming. Here one unit can be 
converted to another only when they belong to the same category.
❖ The units of measure categories of operation can be defined based on the user 
and the company specifications. The respective units of measure category can be 
defined under the unit of measure categories menu. It will list out the respective 
units of measure categories being defined in the platform. 
❖ The new unit of measure category can be created using the create option and the 
menu will provide provisional space to define the respective category of unit of 
measure.
❖ Unit of Measure (UoM) refers to which units the products are sold and 
purchased. The units of measure can be defined based on the 
regularization and the company standards in the unit of measure 
menu accessible form the configuration tab of the sale module.
❖ In the menu the user can view all the units of measure being described in the 
platform and can undergo editing if required by selecting the ones 
available.The new unit of measure can be created using the create option.
❖ In the creation window the user can provide the name of the unit of measure, 
category of operation, the taxation allocation as the unit of measure operation 
is based on the localization and further on local taxation. The respective unit of 
measure can be activated or deactivated using the respective icon available. 
The rounding precisions for the unit of measure can also be defined.
❖ After that go to Products - Products
❖ After that create new  product with purchase unit of measure of newly created 
UOM - Bunch.And make sure entered vendor for this product.
❖ After that create a new  purchase order. And we can see that the UoM will be 
automatically filled up with Bunch.
❖ After RECEIVE PROdUCTS. we can see that the demand count will be 
automatically updated with Bunch quantity.
❖ After Validate go to product page the On hand and purchased quantity 
will be updated
❖ Now let’s create a sale order for the product flower and the UoM will be in 
Units. 
❖ After Validation go to product page the On hand and Sold quantity will 
be updated.
