How to Delete a Chart of 
Accounts in QuickBooks
If you no longer need a chart of accounts in QuickBooks, you 
can delete it. Here’s how:
• Go to the Lists menu and select 
Chart of Accounts.
• Select the account you want to 
delete and click Edit.
• Click the Delete button at the 
bottom of the screen.
• Confirm that you want to delete the 
account by clicking Yes in the 
confirmation window.
