David Batkins graduated from the 
Nelson Community College with an 
Associate's Degree in Police Science. His 
passion for learning more has earned 
him various law enforcement 
certifications, including from the 
Maryland Police Correctional Training 
Commission and Virginia DCJS.
Trusted Member Of The Virginia State Police Criminal Interdiction Team
David Batkins is a former trusted 
member of the Virginia State Police 
Criminal Interdiction Team. He portrayed 
exceptional leadership skills by serving 
as a board director of the Virginia State 
Police Association for 12 years. Upon his 
last term at the association, David 
Batkins served the role of the First Vice 
President.
A Law Enforcement Officer 
David Batkins is a law enforcement 
officer with over 40 years of experience. 
His career began at the Newport News 
P.D. He served as a Patrol Officer and 
became a K-9 handler. Later in 1987, 
David Batkins moved to work with the 
Virginia State Police. He currently 
delivers his vast expertise as a resource 
officer in a busy school.
 A Licensed M4 Rifle Instructor
Firearm instructor David Batkins enjoys 
promoting safe firearm usage. He 
teaches police officers the best practices 
to improve their firearm skills and safety. 
As a licensed M4 rifle instructor, David 
Batkins is proud of his work in creating a 
safe environment in different 
communities in Virginia.
School Resource Officer 
School Resource Officer David Batkins 
helps keep a school with 700 students 
safe. Although he got this role after a 
lengthy career in law enforcement, 
David Batkins enjoys it. He believes it's 
an excellent way to give back to the 
community.
