Derek Schuelein graduated from Penn State University with a bachelor's 
degree and from Lehman College, CUNY, with a master's degree and is 
certified in social studies for grades 7 through 12, school district 
leadership, and school building leadership.  
Derek Schuelein also received the 2019 Distinguished Dissertation Award 
from Manhattanville College for his doctoral work in education. He served 
as principal at Rye High School in Rye City, Blind Brook High School, Blind 
Brook Middle School in Blind Brook, and Lindenhurst High School in 
Lindenhurst, New York. 
Derek Schuelein has strong expertise in recognizing chances to increase 
participation by working with colleagues through academic and 
professional mentoring.  
Derek Schuelein can develop and execute various courses using multiple 
methodologies, including one-on-one coaching, group workshops, and 
continuous assistance. In addition, he has an established track record of 
conceiving, designing, and delivering teaching in collaboration with the 
administration. 
Derek Schuelein is skilled at figuring out how to enhance program 
comprehension and ensure that a top-notch learning experience is 
delivered. By consulting with workers, he developed and implemented 
a curriculum to establish a high-performing learning environment. 
The National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), the 
National Association for College Admissions Counseling (NACAC), the 
Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD), and 
the New York State School Counselor Association are just a few of the 
associations he belongs to.
