NORTH DAKOTA
North Dakota has been making important strides toward improving statewide recycling rates. According to the North 
Dakota Department of Health, hundreds of thousands of tons of municipal solid waste are annually being diverted from 
landfills. The current total recycling rate is 18%. While this number is an improvement over previous years, it still falls 
short of what North Dakota is capable of. Especially when compared to the national average of a 34% recycling rate. 
Additionally, around 7% of this annual, generate waste is plastic. When dealing with thousands of tons of material, this is 
not an insubstantial number. A collaboration with PPR can help the Roughrider State take proactive steps toward 
improving its recycling rate by providing easy plastic waste disposal, which ensures both economic and environmental
