Dr. Mark Cabana is an experienced pediatric dentist born in Chicago and raised
in the western suburbs. With his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University
of Illinois at Chicago and a Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from St. Christopher’s
Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, Dr. Cabana has dedicated over 23 years to
providing exceptional dental care for children.
Recognized for his expertise, Dr. Cabana was featured in the 2019 Top Dentist
list in Chicago Magazine. Voted by his peers, Dr. Cabana has had the distinction
of making the list  at USA’s Top Dentists every year since 2018.  In 2017,  Dr.
Cabana was voted Kidlist’s Best Pediatric Dentist in the near western suburbs,
highlighting his commitment to excellence in pediatric dental care.
Dr. Cabana is a member of the ADA, ISDS, CDS, AAPD, and ISPD. His thirst for
knowledge keeps him current  with continuing education.  As a member of  the
American Laser Club, Dr. Cabana recently participated in a hands-on seminar on
laser  frenectomies  and  the  Function  First  Model,  which  emphasizes  a  multi-
disciplinary approach to treating tongue and lip ties. Since it’s always important to
give back to the community, Dr. Cabana recently volunteered in Peoria with the
Illinois Mission of Mercy to help provide dental care to children and families in
need.
Working  with  children  runs  in  Dr.  Cabana’s  blood,  coming  from  a  family  of
pediatricians,  including  his  mother,  father,  and  two  brothers.  His  youngest
brother, however, has the “coolest” job as a producer for the History Channel in
New York City, a favorite family destination where they’re always in search of the
best New York-style pizza.
At home, Dr. Cabana enjoys life with his wife Arlene, an attorney, and their three
children, Derek, Justin, and Lauren. Their household is also animated by a Shih
Tzu named Casper and a hamster named Almond, known for his adventurous
spirit, having escaped three times only to find his way back home.
A  passionate  fan  of  the  Chicago  Bears,  Cubs,  Bulls,  and  Blackhawks,  Dr.
Cabana enjoys biking, basketball,  golfing,  pickleball,  and bowling in his spare
time. Dr. Cabana also loves traveling. He and his wife just celebrated their 20th
anniversary and experienced their dream vacation in Italy.
Dr. Cabana believes that pediatric dentistry is the most rewarding profession in
the  world.  Going  to  the  dentist  can  be  a  stressful  time for  a  child  and  their
parents, and it is his goal to make that experience stress free and as much fun as
possible. Dr. Cabana feels extremely excited and honored to work at The Loose
Tooth Pediatric Dentistry in Plainfield, where he hopes to make a positive impact
on the lives of his young patients every day.
