Basically, a second-party audit occurs when a pre-existing 
relationship, such as a customer, performs an audit of a 
supplier to verify that they are meeting a specific contract 
requirement. You can conduct these audits on-site by 
reviewing the supplier's processes or even off-site by 
reviewing the supplier's documents. Depending on the 
customer's needs, the contract may be audited in whole or in
