It’s perhaps most well-known for being the 
home of Canada’s largest natural odourless 
hot springs pools, which are comfortable 
and easily accessible throughout the year.
Columbia Lake
Fairmont is also known for providing the 
only access road to Columbia Lake 
Provincial Park. Columbia Lake is the jewel 
of the Columbia Valley. 
It’s a crystal-clear blue body of water that 
comprises the headwaters of the Columbia 
River. This popular landmark is a hot spot 
for all types of water sports, from swimming 
and water skiing to fishing and sailing. 
With more than half the shoreline being 
crown land, the lake is quiet and pristine. 
It’s also known to be warmer than Lake 
Windermere and is 60% larger.
The Fairmont Hot Springs Resort has three golf courses: Mountainside and
 Riverside are 18-hole championship courses, while Creekside is a family-
oriented 9-hole par 3.
 In the winter, the area is home to a small downhill ski area with three lifts 
(one double-chair and two surface lifts), 13 runs and a tube park, as well as 
numerous cross-country trails. 
The resort has a 140-room hotel and spa with massage facilities and a 
conference centre.
