Core spun yarn is made by spinning staple fibers around the core yarn. For extra strength and conductivity, the core yarn can either be a high-tenacity filament made of polyester or metal. Elastic fibers such as spandex and PTT can be used, including PBT, PBT, PBT, and others. The yarn is made stretchier by using the core. Spandex cotton core spun yarn can be used widely.

What Are the Different Types of
Elastic Yarns Available?
We are greeted by a wide range of elastic clothing as we enter sportswear shops like under armor or
Nike. It shapes our bodies and keeps us comfortable. An innovative elastic yarn is the basis of every
new elastic fabric. It was then that I remembered a phrase, "From fiber to fashion", and it made me
proud to be a researcher in the latest fashion yarn technology.
Today, we'll discuss the many types of elastic yarns available in the current market.
1. Core Spun Yarn
Core spun yarn is made by spinning staple fibers around the core yarn. For extra strength and
conductivity, the core yarn can either be a high-tenacity filament made of polyester or metal. Elastic
fibers such as spandex and PTT can be used, including PBT, PBT, PBT, and others. The yarn is
made stretchier by using the core. Spandex cotton core spun yarn can be used widely.
2. Draw and Texture Yarn
Draw Texturised Yarn. Draw Texturised Yarn is a fully-drawn, fully-oriented polyester
multifilament yarn with a soft crimp. It has a high bulk and texture, with a cotton feel, and high
durability and retention. Texturising partially-oriented yarn with texturizing machines creates this
yarn. This is made from the texturing of nylon POY or polyester.
3. Double or Single-covered Yarn
Spandex is typically used as the core yarn. The DTY filament yarn, or spun yarn, is wound on the
core in a spring form in the S/Z direction. This yarn is made by a traditional covering machine. This
yarn is used extensively in tapes, socks and seamless underwear.
4. Air Covered Yarn
This is made by mixing one or more DTY yarns with an elastic fiber such as spandex. The yarn
ends are run through an interlacing jet where air pressure is applied to create interlacing zones.
5. Twisted Yarn
The pre-drawn elastic fibre should be assembled with one or more ends of DTY filament yarn.
Next, feed it on a TFO twister. The core spun yarn has a lower production cost and there are fewer
knots. For final use, the TFO twisting machine can be wound into cones.
6. Hollow Core Spun Yarn
This is similar to core-spun yarn but uses water-soluble filament PVA for the core yarn. The PVA is
then dissolved and the hollow core yarn is created. The hollow core spun yarn has a light, fluffy
feel, is easy to absorb water, and is quick drying.
