Benefits of Dental Aerosol Fume Extraction
Benefits of Dental Aerosol
Fume Extraction
What's Dental Aerosol?
Dental aerosols are airborne particulates
composed of microorganisms and debris that are
released into the air from oral cavities of dental
patients. When these particulates are finer than 1
micrometer, people working at the facility and
even patients can inhale them. Prolonged
exposure to these particulates can result in
asthma, coughs and even cancer.
Threat of Dental Aerosol
Studies have shown that dental aerosols are
considered the greatest threat to infection in
dental facilities. The particulates and fumes raised
from it can remain airborne in dental clinics and
can be hazardous to the health of dentists and
their staff if inhaled.
What Are Dental Aerosol Extraction Systems?
Employing a Dental Aerosol Fume Extractor utilizes
a self-supportive arm to position the nozzle near
the patient opposite of the dental professional so
the aerosols and pathogens are immediately
drawn away from the patient and the dental
professional into the filtration system – providing
much greater protection!
Benefits
At-Source Extraction
Since dentists perform dental procedures
close to the patient’s oral cavity, and
since wet particulates are produced, while
spreading in the room widely. It’s for these
reasons that extracting aerosols at the
source is mandatory, hence the need for a
portable dental air purifier.
Ductless Design
Dental Aerosol extractors create an airflow
pattern that recirculates. This means
installation of the system is made easy,
requiring no makeup air production or
ductwork.
More Protection
Most dental aerosol extractors have an
added layer of protection against
harmful particulates such as bacteria,
pathogens and fungi.

Dental Aerosol Fume Extraction
IP Systems has designed our F1000P-AEL
and our F1000P-AEO aerosol extractor for
hazardous dental aerosol extraction. The
unit produces greater than 200CFM of
airflow for effective capture of the
aerosols and operates very quietly. Most
importantly, however, the unit captures
the aerosols in a medical-grade H-14
HEPA filter. Contact us to learn more!
