Intra-abdominal pressure refers to the bladder pressure or pressure inside the abdominal compartment and is generally measured through a urinary catheter. It is utilized to recognise the risk of intra-abdominal hypertension (IAH) and abdominal compartment syndrome (ACS). The condition related with this syndrome is major fluid resuscitation, severe gut edema or intestinal obstruction or ascites.
