• A hydraulics gear pump is a type of 
positive displacement pump commo
nly used in hydraulic systems to mo
ve hydraulic fluid through a system. 
It operates by using meshing gears 
to pump fluid by displacement. As t
he gears rotate, they create a vacu
um at the pump inlet, drawing in th
e hydraulic fluid, which is then trap
ped between the gear teeth and the 
pump casing. The fluid is transporte
d around the casing to the outlet sid
e, where the meshing of the gears f
orces the fluid out into the hydraulic 
system.
