STATE WHO THE EXPORTER 
ITShe  i-ndividual or business attempting to export 
from the UK is responsible for the entire process, 
and they will need to ensure that all the 
necessary paperwork, export clearance, 
transportation, insurance, import VAT and 
consignment details, all adhere to Incoterms 
current guidelines.
UK EORI NUMBER -
This is a UK Economic Operator 
Registration Identification number, issued 
by HMRC and it needs to be included with 
all export/import paperwork.

EXEMPTION 
FROM UK VAT
After submitting proof of 
departure with goods coming from 
the UK, you can be classed as 
being exempt from UK VAT.
INFORMATION TO BE 
PROVIDED BEFORE EXIT
Commodity code, exit and entry points, 
consignee / consignor information, goods 
details, mode of transport, any special 
licenses or certificates for exporting 
chemicals, food, excise goods, livestock, 
plus a statement of origin, all must be

CONSIGNMENT NUMBER
Submission of customs export declaration 
to NES, to obtain a consignment number.

CUSTOMS DECLARATION
EU import process requires an EU EORI number, 
import licence, exporter statement of origin, 
application for deferred VAT payment, and 
completion of an EU customs import declaration.
INTRASTAT 
DECLARATION
Imports from the EU to the UK 
require an Intrastat declaration 
to be completed.
