Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS) are a great way to keep an eye on your tire pressure and warn you if the pressure is too low. But did you know that there are two different types of TPMS systems? In this PPT, we'll explain the differences between direct and indirect TPMS systems and how each one works. Two Different TPMS System Types
Two Types of
TPMS
Systems
There are two types of TPMS: Indirect TPMS
and Direct TPMS, which differ in how they
monitor tire pressure.
1) Indirect TPMS
Indirect TPMS uses wheel speed sensors to detect underinflated
tires.
2) Direct TPMS
Direct TPMS uses sensors in tires for pressure and temperature
monitoring.
