While he now serves as a psychiatrist in SC, Dr. Joseph Markowitz once spent 6 
years working at a Suboxone clinic for veterans during the beginning of the 
opioid crisis. This experience shaped him in many ways, giving him a unique 
perspective on the struggles that drug-addicted patients face in recovering.

Dr. Joseph Markowitz is an experienced SC psychiatrist who received his doctorate from 
the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of 
New Jersey. Licensed to practice in SC and FL, Dr. Joseph Markowitz has spent a number 
of years treating patients in both states, initially spending time at the James A.
