Traditionally, cold pressed oil referred to a slow extraction process carried out without raising the temperature. This was done using wooden presses such as kohlu, ghani, or chekku, where seeds were crushed gently over time. Because the process was slow, the oil stayed cooler and retained its natural aroma and character.
