Chinese Court Sentences Family to Death for Scams
A Chinese court has sentenced 11 
members of the notorious Ming family 
to death for their role in running large-
scale scam centers in Myanmar. Dozens 
more received lengthy prison terms for 
crimes including telecommunications 
fraud, illegal gambling, and drug 
trafficking, which generated billions of 
dollars. The family's activities, 
operating from Laukkai, fueled the 
"scamdemic" targeting victims globally. 
This crackdown signals China's strong 
stance against cross-border criminal 
enterprises.
Imelda Strengthens, Poses Coastal Hazards; Humberto
 Amplifies Threats
Tropical Storm Imelda is poised to 
strengthen into a hurricane off the 
Southeast coast, posing risks of 
dangerous surf, rip currents, and 
coastal flooding from Florida to the 
Carolinas. Hurricane Humberto's 
immense size will amplify these 
hazards. While Imelda's direct US 
landfall threat has diminished, 
localized flash flooding and coastal 
inundation are still possible. The 
Bahamas are experiencing heavy 
rain and storm surge. Bermuda 
faces a significant threat from both 
Imelda and Humberto.
Suspect in Charlie Kirk Murder Faces Court
The suspected killer of conservative 
commentator Charlie Kirk, Tyler 
Robinson, faces multiple charges 
including aggravated murder. 
Robinson is set to appear in court 
for a messages, and to family, along 
with DNA found on the recovered 
rifle used in the shooting, which 
was allegedly planned for over a 
week.
