Local search often starts with a simple question: can customers find the right business and the right information about it? This presentation explains how Local SEO and NAP consistency work together to create a more reliable online presence for local businesses. The presentation covers the basics of NAP, which stands for Name, Address, and Phone Number, and explains why businesses should keep these details consistent across their website, Google Business Profile, online directories, social media profiles, review platforms, and industry listings. It also highlights common problems that can affect business listings, including outdated phone numbers, previous addresses, inconsistent business names, duplicate listings, and incorrect online citations. The presentation then walks through practical steps businesses can take to review their listings, correct inaccurate information, manage duplicates, and maintain consistent business details over time. This PPT is useful for business owners, marketers, and anyone working on local search engine optimization who wants a straightforward understanding of NAP management and its role in a broader Local SEO strategy. “Doesn't cause citations” isn't “doesn't matter”
Sites that skip structured data entirely tend to have a bigger problem underneath: they are hard for any system, human or machine, to read
at a glance. Clean JSON-LD removes the guesswork.

TWO TRAP S THAT MAT TER MORE THAN SCHEMA
Fix these before worrying about markup
1 Blocking the wrong bot
GPTBot and ClaudeBot collect training data. OAI-SearchBot and Claude-SearchBot handle live search retrieval. Blocking anything with “GPT” or
“Claude” in robots.txt often blocks the search bot too, and once that happens, schema quality stops mattering entirely.
2 JavaScript-loaded markup
Schema injected through a tag manager script only appears once that script runs. Not every AI crawler renders JavaScript the way a browser
does, so a page can look complete to a visitor while showing up empty to a bot. Server-side rendering avoids the gap entirely.

What this means for your site
1 Google's May 2026 guidance confirms there is no separate AI index and no schema shortcut to citations.
2 An Ahrefs test of roughly 1,900 pages found no citation gain from new schema, matching Mueller's “it depends.”
3 Schema still carries weight for data-driven features and for helping any system read a page with certainty.
4 Blocking GPTBot or ClaudeBot in robots.txt can unintentionally block the search bots that power AI citations.
5 JSON-LD loaded through client-side scripts may be invisible to crawlers that skip JavaScript rendering.

Fix the plumbing.
Skip the shortcuts.
Fix robots.txt, render markup server-side, keep Organization and Product schema accurate, and validate
after every redesign. That groundwork, not an “AI schema” shortcut, is what the technical team at Adams
Internet Marketing walks clients through before making bigger promises about AI search.
