When we need some extra cash, selling unwanted items or  
things we don’t really need anymore can be a great 
solution.  This money can be a good source of passive 
income and  contribute to building up our savings or paying 
off our debt.
You probably own various items that you haven’t even  
considered selling, even though they no longer serve a  
purpose in your life and can be sold on the market with little  
to no effort. That’s because it’s very easy these days to find 
 interested buyers through an Ecommerce platform (like 
eBay  or Etsy) or dedicated online store.

Clothes
Clothes are one of the first items people look at when  
they want to make some fast money. Most of us have  
too many of them. We often buy new t-shirts, sweaters,  
jackets, jeans, and other items of clothing, and use the  
old ones less and less. Sometimes, we get to a point  
where we can’t even keep track of all the different  
clothes we own.

Accessories
What we said for clothes also applies to accessories such 
as  bags, shoes, and jewelry. You can make some good 
money by  selling most of these items. Check all items in 
your closet (or  in some other places where you store older 
clothes) and take  a look at all the items that you haven’t 
used in a while.
Moreover, accessories like shoes or large bags can also 
take  up quite a bit of space, so selling them is also a good 
way to  make some additional space in your house or 
apartment.

Electronic devices have become pervasive in our lives,  
and we buy new ones constantly. Did you know that  
people most people upgrade their mobile phone every 
2  to 3 years? Many of us tend to think of old 
electronic  devices as completely useless objects. 
However, just  because we don’t need it doesn’t mean 
that they are  useless to everybody else out there.

Used furniture items can bring in a decent amount of extra  
cash. For example, an old couch could sell for $250, while 
your  desk could sell for up to $150.
When considering selling furniture items to a potential buyer,  
you should always make sure they are in good condition and  
free of damage. People will be more likely to buy them if they  
look neat and clean. Selling old furniture that you are no 
longer  using is also a great way to make space in your home.

As our kids grow up, they become interested in new  
types of toys and lose interest in the older ones they  
used to love. For example, your children may have  
developed an interest in board games and no longer care 
 about dolls or puzzles. However, those old toys can still 
 make tons of younger kids happy and can be a nice  
source of extra cash if they are still in good condition.

Even though ebooks are increasing their popularity, books 
in  paper format are still very much in demand. You 
probably  have plenty of books that you read in the past 
and that you  don’t plan to read again. While some of these 
books may  hold sentimental value, others don’t and can 
provide a nice  source of extra cash. When it comes to 
selling books, make  sure that they are still in good 
condition and free of damage.  If they were kept in a dry 
place, chances are that you would  get a good price for 
them.

DVDs
While streaming has become the most popular way for people 
 to watch movies and tv shows, Blu-Ray and DVD discs 
haven’t  become totally obsolete. After all, if they weren’t in 
high  demand, most stores would have stopped selling them. 
There  are tons of people out there who like to collect and 
watch  movies in these formats, and they may be looking for 
items  that you have in your house. What you need to do is 
look  through your collection and see which movies and TV 
shows  are still in demand. You can then try to sell them for a 
 reasonable price.
