any size, but particularly a large bed quilt. You have carefully chosen fabrics and a type of 
patchwork. Have you given the same careful attention to batting?
Your choice of batting will have a big effect on how you feel and wash your quilts. Batting 
may make a quilt feel puffy or flat, light or cold, hot or barely-there.
Here are some general batting categories and how your quilt can affect them. 
100 % Batting Cotton Quilt
For your quilt top and quilt back, 100 % cotton batting is made from all-natural fibres and 
can fit well if you are using cotton fabrics. It can give your quilt a lovely drape and can 
make it beautifully soft and comfortable.

Cotton batting is hot but not too hot, so it's perfect for all seasons. It can be especially 
good for quilts for babies & girls, but it is flexible for all quilts. Bear in mind that cotton 
batting may be very strong in quite large quilts, so it might not be perfect. The quilting 
stitches can be performed very sparsely by themselves. "You can quilt 8-10" apart and the 
quilt would feel smoother, or you can also densely quilt and have a much more organised 
quilt.

100% Wool Quilt Batting 
And suggest wool batting if you are looking for another natural alternative. It is lighter and 
has more lofts than cotton and is known for its warmth. It will be ideal for really big 
ventures since it's lighter. Your quilting stitches 'will pop' more on your quilt with the extra 
loft.
The wool batting drape is close to the cotton batting drape, and yet it has more volume 
that gives more warmth in exchange.

cold water and not to use chlorine or detergents with optical whiteners, as those appear
