throughout the entire process.
Wool Preparation
Raw wool is meticulously cleaned, 
detangled, and hand-carded into 
soft, uniform fibres, ready to be 
transformed into yarn.
STEP 2
Spinning and Dyeing: Colouring the Threads 
of Tradition
Hand-Spinning Vibrant Hues
Carded fibres are spun on a wheel to create yarn. Spun yarn is submerged in pots of natural or chrome 
Natural variations in tension and texture lend each dyes, absorbing rich, saturated shades that will define 
thread its own subtle character. the rug's palette for generations.
STEP 3
The Weaving: Where 
Patience Meets Artistry
Skilled artisans hand-knot the dyed yarn onto the loom, translating 
the nakshar into living colour. This ancient craft — nearly three 
millennia old — demands extraordinary precision, with a single 
rug requiring months of dedicated work.
STEP 4
Post-Weaving Transformation: Washing and Drying
Luminosity Wash
The newly woven rug is soaked, soaped, 
and scrubbed with wooden paddles to 
remove impurities — revealing the wool's 
inherent luminosity and softness.
Sun-Kissed Brilliance
Laid out in the open sun, the rug dries 
over several days, a natural process 
that deepens its brilliance and 
enhances the lustre of every fibre.
STEP 5
Refining the Masterpiece: Stretching and Shearing
These final structural steps ensure the rug holds its shape beautifully and presents a flawless, uniform surface — the mark of a truly refined 
hand-knotted piece.

The Final Touch: Finishing and Texture
