Solar Power Forecasting 
 As the demand for renewable energy has steadily increased around the 
world, new solar and wind power projects helped the EU produce more 
electricity from renewable sources in 2020 than from fossil fuels for the first 
time.
 Renewables were the only type of energy that saw worldwide consumption 
increase at a pace in the double digits over the past ten years, with 
consumption increasing at an average annual rate of 13.7%. At the end of 
2019, 2,537 GW of renewable energy were being produced globally, 
solar monitoring companies according to the International Renewable 
Energy Agency. Because they don't emit greenhouse gases or other forms of 
pollution and are abundant in nature, renewable energy sources are on the 
increase and are here to stay.
Solar Plant Forecasting 
 The problem of solar power forecasting is fundamentally one of weather 
forecasting. Prior to modelling the transmission of solar radiation through the 
Earth's atmosphere, the position of the Sun with respect to a specific location 
on the surface of the Earth is first modelled. Finally, power modelling software 
is used to produce projections of the energy generation from a specific solar 
installation using correct estimations of the solar radiation availability.
