How to Do a Brick Test
Performing how-to do a-brick-test helps you assess the quality and strength of bricks
before using them in construction. A good brick should have a uniform shape and size with
sharp edges.
When you tap it lightly, it should produce a clear ringing sound, indicating solidity. Dropping
the brick from about one metre should not cause it to break easily, showing its durability. The
surface should be free from cracks or visible damage. A high-quality brick will also have a
consistent colour throughout.
To check water absorption, soak the brick in water for 24 hours and measure the weight
difference absorption should ideally be less than 20%. Scratch the surface with a nail; a
strong brick will not powder easily.
