 What are the components of suspension?

1. Springs 
Coil spring is used in making the suspension as it helps in absorbing the shock
and impact of a speed driver and off-road driving. In earlier times, leaf spring
was in use as in this, several layers of metal are bound together to make the
spring. In some heavy vehicles, leaf springs are also in use. 
But nowadays in cars, coiled springs are used because they give a better driving
experience to the passengers who are sitting in the car. Metal rods are also a
substitute for spring.
2. Wheels 
Wheels or tires are considered the outer part of the suspension. They are a very
important part of the suspension because the first wheels are the only part of
the suspension which touches the ground and second they bear all the bumps of
the vehicle. 
If your tires are weak or leaking, then it affects your drive and your accelerating
and braking depend puts an impact on the tires. For a smooth drive, your tires
or wheels should be high quality and in better condition. 
3. Shock Absorbers 
The springs won’t act alone as shock absorbers help the spring to reduce the
impact of the bumps. Shocker works with the spring to keep the car stable and
supports the spring for reducing the movement of the shocks. 
Taking care of the shock absorber is an important thing because it requires thick
oil and if you see that the oil is leaking then it would affect your smooth ride.
Also, it can cause problems to other parts of the suspension too. 
4. Rods/Linkage 
Rods or linkage helps in joining the parts of the suspension together. These rods
are made up of high-quality material and durable enough to last for a longer
time. The rods get damage only when the car suffers some damage or has been
in some type of accident. 
5. Joints/Bearing 
With  the  help  of  the  joints,  you  can  be  able  to  join  the  rods  into  bigger
components. You won’t need much lubrication and make sure that the joints are
not made of rubber. The rubber joints fall off quickly and cause a problem in
your suspension system. 
6. Steering System 
The steering system is responsible for the movement of the suspension system.
This  component  is  not  directly  related  to  the  suspension  system it  helps  in
making the wheel turn and controls the movement of other components of the
suspension. 
7. Frame 
It is like the structure of the suspension system where all the components are
fitted and there for the most important component of the suspension system. It
carries the load and weight of the car and the components so the quality should
be according to that.
