• Approach the folder containing your QuickBooks files.
• The Network descriptor file has a similar name to your company file and 
extension .nd.
• Right-click on the .nd file and tap Rename in the options.
• Type ‘.old’ at the last of the file name as an extension and save the file.
Once you have completed the editing, you’ll now have to register the folder on 
the network using the Database Server Manager as given in the steps below-
• Open Database Server Manager from the search panel if you have installed it 
separately, or go to the Network Issues option in the QuickBooks Tool hub.
• Navigate to the Scan folders tab and select the QuickBooks folder where 
you saved the network descriptor file.
• Click Start Scan and wait until the folder is registered on the network.
• Open your QuickBooks and try to switch to the multi-user mode.
