Ceric oxide (CeO₂) is a fundamental industrial rare-earth oxide used widely as a polishing agent, catalytic component (three-way catalysts, soot oxidation), fuel cell additives, and ceria-based materials in electronics and glass. Global production is concentrated in China (largest refining and oxide processing capacity), with an increasing number of upstream mining and refining projects globally aimed at diversifying supply.
